Mr. Medel or Brett, as he is fondly called, is a seasoned IT Professional. He has been assuming the role of Senior IT Consultant, Senior IT Executive or CIO in some of the  large companies and conglomerates in the Philippines. He is now running his own IT consultancy firm, Medel Consulting where he is the consultant of various private and government organization. As a CIO for over 12 years, in those years as CIO, his thrust was to bring his companies into the digital space through a digital transformation journey. He used to be the CIO of Asian Institute of Management, Group CIO of The Medical City’s 5 hospitals and 50 clinics, Group CIO of the ePLDT Group, CIO of Philex Mining and CIO of PNB Life (now Allianz). In 2015, he was the Chairman of the CIO Council of the MVP Group of companies. As chairman, he brought together the CIO of the MVP companies, namely PLDT, SMART, Meralco, Maynilad, Mediaquest, Tollways, and the Hospital group.  He has been invited as speaker and thought leader for various IT fora, here and abroad, the latest ones were : Healthcare Tech Thailand, Microsoft Thailand, Edutech Singapore, Edutech Manila, Alliance of Colleges and Universities Manila. Just recently, he organized a CIO event for the Malaysian Digital Economic Corp (MDEC) for business matching between Malaysian tech companies and local conglomerates and large corporations. In his consulting firm, Brett offers end to end IT services, from performing a 360-degree  diagnostics on IT posture to crafting an IT blueprint laying down the IT solutions required by the business in order to future proof the business from the demands of the marketplace.  He is currently the consultant of the Araneta Group of Companies, LCC Bicol, Agilis Group of Companies, and others.  Brett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering (Honors Program), Ateneo de Manila University. A certified ITIL practitioner, he has completed the Digital Transformation Course from the Boston Consulting Group and  University of Virginia, Executive Training on Six Sigma,  Capability Maturity Model  and Project Manager Institute programs.
